We are looking for an experienced Painter to join our growing team. In this role, the Painter will refinish all assigned vehicles per the written work-order, effectively diagnose and refinish vehicles thoroughly, safely, and profitably in accordance with Fix Auto’s SOP’s- enabling teammates to complete repairs in a timely manner. The successful Painter will be someone who is able to multi-task, be punctual, be detail-oriented, and excels at working in a fast-paced environment. Description • Complete work orders for every vehicle, as applicable • Follow proper repair procedures to perform all refinish work according to factory specifications • Color matching experience is required to prepare color tint to match paint color, mix paint colors, and ensure all formulations, preparations, top coating and curing meet OEM recommended standards for proper application sequence, timing, and materials usage • Follow all paint manufacturing guidelines • Utilize air sanders, spray guns, sanding blocks, etc., to complete quality work • Manage & control materials cost, maximizing usage and inventory • Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician • Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician • Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal • Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area • Comply with Fix Auto safety rules, guidelines and standards • Perform other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to prep work, washing cars, cleaning the shop, assisting other teammates, etc. Working Conditions The Painter will spend time in a normal autobody paint shop of the collision repair center. Daily physical activities consist of: • Reaching below and above shoulder level • Kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping • Lifting and carrying objects over 50 pounds • Standing for extended periods of time • Repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion • Must be able to push/pull parts carts and cars with assistance • Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment • Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work performed The work environment consists of: • Exposure to fumes, chemicals and dust • Exposure to moving mechanical machinery and parts • High levels of noise • Subjectivity to weather conditions Key Qualifications • Must be over 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license • 4+ years’ experience as a Painter in a collision repair facility or an automotive dealership • Color matching experience is required • Effective verbal and written communication • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders • Fun, personable, customer-service focus • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills • Great time management • Easily adaptable in fast-paced environments To apply, please email your resume to [email protected]
