BJ's Gears is not just another large truck "wrecking yard". We salvage good parts from running vehicles that have not been damaged. Our large 2-acre facility, located in Sacramento's drier California climate protects our thousands of used truck parts from extensive rust damage. Our inventory is constantly being updated by fresh stock that we purchase. Our dismantlers carefully disassemble the trucks with wrenches and air tools. We take the extra effort so that the customer won't have bolts that need drilling out, nicked parts or have to spend hours tracing out a wiring harness. We are looking for an adept mechanic that can dismantle, replace, install, and on occasion diagnose diesel engines. Majority of the work involves general mechanic labor for dismantling and installing diesel transmissions, rear-eneds, clutches, and other engine components. Qualifications: 18 years of age with valid Driver's License Carry your own basic tools Minimum of 1 year of dismantling/installation experience on auto or diesel engines Ability to lift & handle large tools and components Punctual, Ability to take direction, Good Communication Responsibilities: Dismantle, Replace, and Install Diesel Engine Components (Rear-End, Transmission, Clutch etc..) Diagnose and Repair on occasion Change Oil, Brakes, Filter, and Tires Keep Work Area Clean Small Jobs around the shop including installation and repair of small truck components (engine / in-cab) Ability to work Monday-Saturday 8 am - 5 pm.
