ARNOLD, MD — A motorcyclist died recently after an Arnold crash, county police announced. Officers said a car passenger was hospitalized in the wreck.
Authorities identified the deceased victim as 31-year-old Shane Tyler Rider of Baltimore. Police expect the injured car passenger to survive. The car driver was not hurt.
The two-vehicle collision happened last Thursday around 4:20 p.m., officers said.
Authorities said Rider was heading south on Ritchie Highway approaching Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard on his 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle. At the same time, a 2016 Toyota Camry was driving northbound on Ritchie Highway and started to turn left onto Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.
Police said the motorcycle and the sedan collided.
Medics pronounced the biker dead on the scene, officers said.
Authorities said the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating. The agency did not speculate who was at fault.
