Ever wondered what type of trees you're hiking, biking, or running past at RMP? Learn more about the different varietals of trees, both native and exotic, around Red Mountain Park. The two-mile hike will be along the BMRR South Trail and will feature about twenty-five common Alabama forest trees. It will be led by Henry Hughes, who studied forestry at the University of the South and teaches Native Forest Tree Identification through Alabama Audubon.
The hike will start at the Park's Frankfurt entrance welcome station at 9 AM, Saturday, May 28th.
This event is free for current Red Mountain Park Members and $5 a person for non-members ages 5 and above. Please register if you'd like to attend. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
