Re-Home 7 Laying Chickens - Various Ages and Breeds

Description

I'm trying to find a new home for a small flock of 7 backyard chickens. They vary in age and they're a mixed flock as well. All females. Red Laced Blue Wyandotte: 7 years Black and White Wyandotte: 7 years Gold Laced Wyandotte: 6 years White Americauna: 5 years Giant Buff Cochin: 5 years Black Sex Links (x2): 2 years These chickens are relatively healthy. Well taken care of. But they did have a bout with Mycoplasma last fall (confirmed by the Vet and CSU lab). So they went on antibiotics in the fall. Apparently mycoplasma is pretty ubiquitous with chickens (or any birds) in Colorado and while it doesn’t effect the eggs, it can cycle through at times of stress etc. This flock will be carriers all their life. So care should be taken if you are adding them to an existing flock. Anyway, they look good. And they've always been fed organic chicken feed. Even the older ones are still laying. And at peak season I get about 4-5 eggs per day from all 7. They're laying well. They've always free ranged our yard that they share with our border collie/mix dog. So they're used to being around dogs (as long as your dog isn't interested in eating them or playing rough of course) and they're also great with children. Up until my daughters got to be teenagers these chickens were more of a priority. But in recent years they've been pretty much adopted by me and I'm just not a chicken farmer! I love seeing them roam the yard and love hearing their little noises, but I think I'd like to move on to some other projects and commitments myself. Preferably it would be nice to know that these chickens would be added to an existing flock and/or adopted by someone familiar with owning and caring for chickens. Feel free to Call, Text or Email with questions. My name is Nick.
