Join educator Kate Marshall for a 3-session discussion series based on Ibram X. Kendi’s seminal book, How To Be An Antiracist.
Once we lose hope, we are guaranteed to lose. But if we ignore the odds and fight to create an antiracist world, then we give humanity a chance to one day survive, a chance to live in communion a chance to be forever free. — Ibram Kendi
Join educator Kate Marshall for a 3-session (one session per week) discussion series based on Ibram X. Kendi’s seminal book, How To Be An Antiracist. Each session will include video clips, readings, journaling, and thought exercises to understand the roots of racism and our own individual reckoning. This is a deeply personal experience in a supportive environment.
We strongly recommend that participants read How To Be An Antiracist prior to Day 1 of the workshop. Copies are available at the public library. Alternatively, you can purchase the book for a 10% discount at Hudson Valley Books for Humanity.
Kate Marshall is a long-time educator and community activist whose own journey around anti-racism has led her to this series offering. She has led this workshop numerous times for fellow educators and the general public. We are honored to bring this experience to the bookstore community.
The cost for all three sessions is $60. Scholarships are available based on individual circumstance. (Email [email protected].)
