The Spot JC and 3RE are pushin' poetry and spoken word in JC. Calling all poets, writers, lyricists, artists, and art lovers. Breathe- in experience, breathe-out poetry ~ Muriel Rukeyser Grab your tickets for the poetry jump-off event hosted by Poet Laureate Rashad Wright in honor of National Poetry Month. The event will feature advanced poets, lyricists, writers, and a few open mic performances. We are inviting you to participate or simply enjoy the talents of open mic. Calling all poets, writers, musicians, singers, rappers, bands, comedians and all other lyrical genres are welcome to perform. Local small businesses will be in attendance offering their products and services. ** Doors open at 6:30 pm, event starts at 7 pm. ---------- The Spot JC is located in the Greenville section of Jersey City. It's a co-creative space, content creation hub, and creative studio designed to bring your artistic vision to life. The Spot JC is the place to enjoy great creative vibes while experiencing a little art therapy. 3RE is a nonprofit organization designed to inspire and rebuild forgotten communities. Rashad Wright is a slam champion, JC native, and graduate of NJCU. Wright is the author of "Romeo's Whiskey", a coming of age story that combines poetry and memoir to create a literary masterpiece. Rashad has been curating open mic and grand slam events for over 5 years.
