Description

We've got a ton of Madagascar hissing cockroaches that are very healthy and well cared for but also quite uh...promiscuous. The enclosure isn't getting any bigger, so we're offering some to anyone interested in an easy to care for and fascinating pet! Hissers make excellent beginner pets and require little maintenance. They feed on vegetable and fruit scraps, leaf litter, and protein (cat food is acceptable!) and are quite tolerant of handling. They just need a tank with a well fitting lid, some warmth and humidity, and fresh food, and you've got yourself a happy little critter! These guys are also a great educational opportunity and would make an excellent addition to any classroom! Starter colonies can be adjusted to your preference but the minimum I usually recommend is one male and three females. If you don't want males, that's also an option, but we'd choose subadult females for you so we can be sure you won't end up with surprise babies. Questions are extremely welcome, and tips for care and habitat and extended support (troubleshooting, health questions, etc) are always available! If you'd like to try a bioactive tank, I have years of experience building healthy little ecosystems, and can provide advice if needed. Please text or email if interested! Small rehoming fee applies (generally a buck a roach) but is negotiable, especially in higher quantities.
