Kick off the Green Mountain Book Festival at an evening fundraiser, featuring Vermont author Sue Halpern, a silent auction, and book sale.
Join us Thursday, June 9, 2022 for a delightful evening with author Sue Halpern. Sue Halpern is a staff writer at The New Yorker, and the author of seven books, including the best-selling A Dog Walks into a Nursing Home, and Four Wings and a Prayer, which was made into an Emmy-nominated film. She was a columnist for Mother Jones and Ms, and has written on science, technology and politics for The New York Times Magazine, Rolling Stone, and The New Republic, as well as for The New York Review of Books, where she is a regular contributor. She founded and edited NYRBLit, the electronic publishing imprint of New York Review Books. Halpern is a scholar-in-residence at Middlebury College, where she directs the program in narrative journalism. She is the recipient of Guggenheim and echoing green Fellowships and earned a doctorate in political theory from Oxford University.
The evening will be a ticketed event, $75 per person.
Beer, Wine, and Bites will begin at 5:30, followed by In Conversation with Sue Halpern. The evening will conclude with a Book Sale Preview and Silent Auction.
