WATERFORD, CT — Police have released the following statement warning residents about computer scams. "Some residents have received a virus warning on their computers that appears to lock up the computer. The virus screen requests they call the number posted claiming it is Microsoft. The scammers at that number will attempt to get payment through bitcoin or gift cards. Do not fall for this scam."
