International Day of Yoga Sound Bath and Labyrinth Walk (FREE) In collaboration with International Yoga Day (IDY) and the Consul General of India we invite you to join us Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 8pm-9pm for a sunset labyrinth walk and immersive sound bath at Discovery Green Park, located 1500 McKinney St. Public artist and labyrinth builder, Reginald C. Adams will facilitate the labyrinth walk. Yogi and sound healer, Saumil Manek will organize and facilitate the group sound bath. Eight sound healers will be strategically positioned around the outside perimeter of the labyrinth performing together as one. As people are invited to walk the 3-circuit labyrinth garden, illuminated by solar lights, the sounds and frequencies of the instruments will fill and flood the airwaves with those cosmic vibrations. As people walk into the labyrinth and make the twists and turns on the path, they will be showered with the powerful and healing vibrations of these ancient healing instruments. Sound Healers: Etheral Healing, Sensui Shui Guillory, Inga Kervin, Farida Meguid, Cheree O’Dell, Sophie Recio, Soufiane Sattva, and Andrea Stender. This will be a first for Houston and a wonderful way to celebrate IDY, mindful meditation, and the power and wisdom of the ancient archetype of the labyrinth at Discovery Green Park. A sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are showered in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including ancient healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles, tuning forks, and even the human voice. The labyrinth, an ancient pathway to meditation and reflection, has a single circuitous path that winds its way into the center. The person walking it uses the same path to return from the center, as the entrance then becomes the exit. The path is in full view, which allows a person to be quiet and focus internally.
