The Salt&Pepper proudly presents one of the forerunners of the Muscle Shoals Music Industry, Mike Orear and the Starliters. Since the earliest days in the development of the Muscle Shoals Sound, the Tennessee/Alabama State Line North of Florence, served as a breeding ground for local studio musicians and pioneers of the Shoals Music scene. The bars and clubs became "day jobs" for the musicians providing a means of support between studio gigs and while they honed their creative skills. Mike O'Rear is one of the kingpins and legends of that breeding ground. From his early beginnings as a "Stateline Star" with his band the Starliters to his career as a club owner, providing gigs for musicians, to a successful career in music publishing, O'Rear has been there behind the scenes laying the foundation with some of the most successful of the Muscle Shoals legends, including The Swampers. Today Mike has reunited with his legendary Starliters for special events and supporting their scholarship fund for students in the area. The Salt&Pepper is pleased not only to present O'Rear and company in concert but to record the event to document the musical legacy of the State Line. Joining them that night will also be Rev.
