ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst is still seeing the highest number of coronavirus cases since January, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, the city had seen 10,483 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 188 from a week before. That compares to the previous week's 201. The city hit a weekly record of 599 in January. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst stayed the same in the last week, at 96. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1 percent.
