Press release from the Wright County Government: May 19, 2022 With several projects going on throughout the state that are reducing lanes of traffic, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has taken sides on how drivers should merge in traffic – promoting the practice of "zipper merging." Zipper merging is having both lanes of traffic when two lanes reduce to one taking turns. Some drivers see zipper merging as being a discourteous driver in the lane that is closing get ahead of as many cars as possible.
