Looking for Bass Player/Guitarist/Singer

Springfield VA

Description

Hi. We are a new band of people in our mid fifties (although age doesn't matter to us too much so long as you don't need a fake ID to get in the door at gigs). I am a guitarist with 40 years experience doing live gigs. I have worked solo for many of the past twenty years in the Northern Virginia area, and so I can carry the show by myself, but I am looking for a vocalist who can handle lead and backup/harmony, who is also a guitarist, who is also a bass player. Yes I am looking for all that rolled into one. I am also all those things, and I am looking for someone I can trade guitar/bass duties with (take turns) such that both musicians will have the opportunity to play both guitar and bass. I also like to switch it up between lead vocal and harmony back-up. These are my ultimate goals anyway. About the band. We are three pieces right now. Myself on guitar and lead vocals, a jazz drummer who moonlights sitting in for lots of different bands and can play anything, and a female vocalist/guitarist who sings most of the harmonies. We lost our bass player recently to a medical issue and now definitely need someone in that position. Although someone with both bass and guitar experience would be great, we need to get back to gigging so I would settle for someone who can play just bass on the 1960's -to- present mellow rock we play, everything from Beatles to the seventies singer/songwriters, to some of the groovy stuff from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's (e.g. - in no particular order - Paul Simon, Eagles, The Beatles solo stuff, John Denver, Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Grateful Dead, Jim Croce, Arlo Guthrie, Pink Floyd, Pure Prairie League, Human League, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young again) Sixpence None The Richer, and a lot more I can't think of right now. The important thing is that although we have our niche, we are all willing to step outside the boundaries of that and try different things. A new person would bring a fresh perspective and we welcome that. Anyway, if you are interested or want more details please contact me. Right now we are rehearsing on Tuesday nights 6:30-9:00pm but we can be flexible if a different day would work better for everyone. Thanks for reading.
