What: GM is hosting an open house for available Skilled Trade roles at our Pontiac Stamping Plant for Skilled Trades Journeymen. WHO: Pontiac Metal Center is a stand-alone stamping plant responsible for regional stamping needs for major metal components. Primary customers include Factory Zero (home of the GMC Hummer truck & SUV, Cruise Origin autonomous vehicle) as well as Orion Assembly – current home of the Bolt EV & EUV and future home of the Silverado & Sierra electric trucks. WHEN: Wednesday, May 25th from 12 PM – 6 PM WHERE: 260 E Beverly, Pontiac, Michigan, 48340 United States Available Positions: Electrician, Die Maker, Mechanical (Including Millwrights, Machine Repairmen, and Pipefitters!) Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications: - U.S. Department of Labor Completion of Apprenticeship Certificate in Die Maker trade or six (6) years of documented experience as an Die Maker. - Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check - At least 18 years of age - Eligible to work in the United States - Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shift as well as overtime hours daily, weekends and holidays on those shifts with little notice. - General Motors UAW hourly employment offers a very competitive compensation and benefit package.
