Learn the basics of canning for food preservation, with a focus primarily on water bath canning of jams and jellies. In this demo style class, we’ll cover the basic equipment needed for both water bath and pressure canning, and go over the basic functionalities of the equipment. The main focus of the class will be on preservation of fruits in the form of jam and jelly. We’ll demo a batch of jam or jelly from start to finish, while discussing: Techniques Ingredient requirements Safety Troubleshooting potential problems Storage/shelf life
