SOMOS and SHPE NYC 18th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing SOMOS & SHPE-NYC Golf Outing & Scholarship Fundraiser You are cordially invited to participate in the SOMOS and SHPE NYC 18th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing. All net proceeds from the event will fund the SOMOS/SHPE NYC STEM Scholarship Program. The scholarship fund is one of several programs the SOMOS and SHPE NYC have in place to support the Hispanic community. The event brings together Golf novices and aficionados for a full day of Golfing, networking and raising funds for a good cause. The registration ticket will include: Green fees, cart rentals, Scramble format play, Open Bar, Lunch, Dinner, Hole in one Prize, Raffles and other surprises. About the Verizon SOMOS & SHPE Scholarship Program In 2018 the HSO-SHPE Scholarship Fund awarded ten outstanding college-bound students with $20,000 in scholarships. Since its inception the Scholarship Program has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to 92 extraordinary Hispanic college-bound students. Verizon SOMOS has partnered with the NYC Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) with the goal of making the scholarship program bigger, better and reaching an even wider audience.  Pending this year’s fundraising results, we aim to present at minimum three (3) one-time scholarship awards.  Qualified students must be high school seniors or college freshmen, and reside in the states of New York or New Jersey.
