Join us for a 1920s open house! Enjoy period entertainment, and bring a picnic to enjoy on the beautiful grounds.
Join us for our annual summer fundraiser "Gala Day"!
The very first "Gala Day & Garden Party Bazaar" was held at the Rebecca Nurse Homestead in 1912 right after becoming a Museum, and they continued to be held annually through the 1920's! It was a way to welcome the community to explore the newly restored historic house, learn about local history, and just enjoy the beautiful grounds on a summer day.
For this year's theme we are traveling back to the 1920s. Come experience our version of Gala Day. (This year also marks the 10th year since our first Gala Day reenactment!)
We encourage you to come dressed in your best 1920s attire and spend the day with us! The site will be open from 10am-4pm, and guests are welcome and encouraged to bring their own snacks or a picnic lunch (please no alcoholic beverages). Some light refreshments will also be available for purchase.
-Explore the home of Rebecca Nurse and its beautiful grounds.
-Listen to popular music from the 1920’s
-Watch silent “moving pictures” in the Meetinghouse
-Try your hand at playing period-style lawn games. We have Croquet and Bocce. (But feel free to bring your own lawn games as well.)

Although admission is listed as FREE for this event, this is our annual summer fundraiser and we encourage visitors to make donations towards the preservation of the Nurse Homestead. You can donate here or on-site the day of the event. As an independent 501c(3) non-profit we rely almost entirely on donations and admission fees to preserve this unique historic site.
