JRC’s Shavuot Block Party is a single night of spectacular celebration packed with rituals, text and learning sessions, art, author readings and activities for children. On Saturday, June 4th, JRC (Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation) invites the whole community to gather together outside the building at 303 Dodge Ave. in Evanston from 5:30-11pm. In honoring JRC’s commitment to be accessible and inclusive, this event will be multi-access with festivities to enjoy inside the building, outside on the street and via zoom.
JRC welcomes new visitors and longtime members alike to share their rich customs and traditions, with opportunities to learn with clergy, listen to live music and participate in art and story. In addition to a potluck dinner, the C&W Ice Cream Truck, one of Evanston’s black-owned businesses will stop by to signify the sweetness and sustenance of learning. The festivities will be capped with singing and s’mores around a roaring bonfire. For more information visit jrctogether.org.
