Please register to join us on Saturday, October 15th, for this FREE Lectio Divina event featuring our guest speaker, Sarah Christmyer. The Annunciation, Mary as Our Model"'Behold, I am the handmaid of the LORD; let it be to me according to your word.'" ~Luke 1:38S-O-W, Let's Lectio!You are invited to join us on Saturday, October 15th, for a free 3-hour Lectio Divina Conference as we look to Our Blessed Mother, specifically in The Annunciation, for our model in practicing lectio. Whether you are a beginner or not, you are welcome to attend as we try to deepen our practice and bring more awareness to lectio divina. As stated in Verbum Domini (#87) regarding various approaches to Sacred Scripture, "the greatest attention was paid to lectio divina, which is truly 'capable of opening up to the faithful the treasures of God’s word, but also of bringing about an encounter with Christ, the living word of God'". This event is sponsored by Sisters of the Word Apostolate (SOW). Sarah Christmyer shares her passion for lectio divina as our keynote speaker. Please don't forget to register and bring your Bible! Sarah Christmyer is a Catholic author, Bible teacher, and speaker with a special love for lectio divina and journaling as ways to draw close to Christ in Scripture. She is the co-developer and founding editor of The Great Adventure Catholic Bible study program and author or co-author of more than a dozen books and Bible studies. Her latest book is Becoming Women of the Word: How to Answer God’s Call with Purpose and Joy (Ave Maria Press). Sarah serves as an adjunct faculty member at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia and as a board member of the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, PA. She blogs at ComeIntoTheWord.com.
