The world challenges men to pursue all sorts of habits—fitness and diet regimens, financial planning hacks, social pursuits, hobbies and interests. While these are good, can they get in the way of the best? Doesn’t God desire something greater for us? And what sort of spiritual habits should we pursue as men, husbands, and fathers so that we can grow in our God-given identities? 11:00 – 11:30 Breakout talks in Rooms 115/116 and 119 on various men’s issues. 11:35 – 12:25 Session 2: Fantasy vs Reality: The Myth of the Modern American Man with Rev. Cn. Michael Gilton, Ascension Chapel. Television and advertising, podcasts and social media bombard us with worldly images and visions of the modern American man. But shouldn’t there be a difference between these worldly images versus the images that the Bible lifts up? How does Christ expose and explode these myths? How do we apply and live out his vision in our day and age? 12:30 – 12:45 Final Song, blessing, and dismissal, Ascension Chapel.
