Trout Unlimited LA River Fishing Workshop! Learn about conservation and fishing basics along the Los Angeles River. Trout Unlimited LA River Fishing Workshop 2022! Learn about conservation and fishing basics along the Los Angeles River. At the end of the workshop, you and your family and friends can go fishing anytime during the open season. We'll be giving fishing poles* to youngsters, teaching them how to fish, helping to rig up their rods, and demonstrating fishing techniques. Join us along the Los Angeles River, next to North Atwater Park, learn how to fish, and get your free* fishing rod and reel, tackle box, and more. Saturday, May 28th, 9 am-3 pm: Morning: The Basics! Outdoor Classroom We will discuss conservation, and river safety along with the basics of fishing in the LA River! You will learn how to rig up a fishing pole, casting techniques, and basic knots needed to start your fishing experience. Afternoon: Intro to fishing! On the river - after a quick lunch you will grab your free* fishing pole and hit the river to catch some fish! This workshop is brought to you in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks! To participate you must sign a waiver. If you are under 18 a parent or guardian must sign for you. If you participated last year and need to brush up on your skills, bring your fishing pole! * free fishing poles are first come, first serve and you must complete the workshop.
