HWD Releases Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Hicksville Water District (HWD) is proud to announce that its 2021 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report (ADWQR) is available for residents to review. The report, which is available on the District's website, was also mailed to residents' homes and once again confirms that the District's steadfast dedication to providing its community with top-quality water has proven successful. "The Hicksville Water District's primary goal is to provide our residents with the highest-quality water possible, and we are proud to say that our 2021 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report shows that, even despite new challenges with emerging contaminants, our residents continue to receive safe, reliable water," said HWD Chairman Nicholas Brigandi. "We are constantly looking to improve our treatment practices while working tirelessly to construct the most state-of-the-art water treatment technology available. Due to this hard work, the quality of our water remains among the highest in the region, something which will continue for generations to come." The report, which is verified for accuracy by the Nassau County Health Department, shows that the water being delivered to Hicksville residents is under the maximum contamination level (MCL) of 43 different potential water contaminants. Additionally, the District conducts more than 10,000 water quality tests every year. Tests are also conducted for more than 135 different contaminants and they have remained undetected, ensuring they are not a threat to the community's water quality. The 2021 Water Quality Report can be viewed online directly at www.hicksvillewater.org/hwd/water-quality-report.
