Description
Press release from Green Bay Area Public School District:
May 19, 2022
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Most mental health conditions are not due to one factor, but rather several different risk factors. Learn more about risk factors associated with increased likelihood for mental health conditions. And remember, if you experience any of these factors, it does not mean you have/will develop a mental health condition.
There are many things that we can do to promote good mental health and self-care in our lives. These include food choices and nutrition, sleep, exercise, managing stress, identifying coping skills, building a support system, and more. You can find more information about creating positive habits here.
Thinking about mental health should be the same as thinking about physical health. We all have days where our noses are congested, we have a headache, or our stomach feels off. Likewise, we all have days where we feel down. To learn more about the difference between typical down days and mental health conditions, click here.
If you feel you may be experiencing a mental health condition, please consider getting help. You aren't alone - help is out there, and recovery is possible! You can take a mental health screening here.
