BALTIMORE, MD — The Preakness Stakes, the second leg and Middle Jewel of horse racing's Triple Crown, will be held Saturday at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The nine-horse, $165 million race is held the third Saturday in May, two weeks after the Kentucky Derby and three weeks before the Belmont Stakes. Post time this year is 7:01 p.m. For the fourth consecutive year, there will be no Triple Crown winner. Earlier this month, the owner of Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike announced the horse would not race in the 147th running of the Preakness. Rich Strike, at 80-1, was the biggest long shot to win the Derby in more than a century. Instead, Kentucky Derby runner-up Epicenter was set Monday as the 6-5 morning line favorite for the Preakness.
