Press release from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office: May 19, 2022 On Friday, May 13, Det. Clarissa Harris received a call from Shreveport Police and was advised that officers were at a motel in the 5100 block of Westwood Park Drive responding to a report that counterfeit checks were being printed in one of the motel rooms. Det. Harris arrested Marion Carthon, 48, shortly after she obtained a search warrant and found methamphetamine, pills, a handgun, multiple smoking pipes, marijuana, counterfeit checks, and check making equipment in his motel room. Carthon also had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to register as a sex offender. Carthon was arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center. He is charged with possession of schedule I, possession of schedule II, and illegal carrying of weapons. The investigation into the fraudulent checks is still ongoing.
