Hi all. It's me, Shannon Denney, your host of the Daily. Here are all the things you need to know about what's happening in town. First, today's weather: Cloudy, showers and t-storms. High: 84 Low: 72. Here are the top stories in New Orleans today: Seventeen fire trucks were called to control a fire early Wednesday morning in a vacant apartment building on Springbrook Lane. The cause of the fire is under investigation but the 46 total fire personnel were able to put it out a little after 2:30 a.m. (Press Release Desk) Mayor Cantrell was joined by other city officials and organizations to celebrate the completion of a $650,000 project that built the North Lopez Pedestrian Bridge. The project was funded by the Louisiana Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration and city bonds. It is part of a larger effort by New Orleans to invest in infrastructure. (Press Release Desk) A St. Claude Avenue shooting left four shot and one dead. Just before midnight on Friday, two men and two women were shot at the intersection at Forstall Street. One died at the scene but the other three were transported to the hospital.
