Learn the principles of fashion design including how to draw a croquis for flat designs & operate a sewing machine....plus a fashion show Do you have a kid who is an aspiring fashion designer? Stylist? Or Just really love clothes... This 9 week fashion design class is just what you are looking for. All supplies for weekly classes are provided....students are responsible for purchasing finale design fabrics Class schedule is as follow April 2nd- Sketching & Design (flat design corquis project) April 9th-Basic Sewing Skills (operating and learning parts of machines, tools, and stitching techniques. April 16th- Pattern 101 (symbols, measurements, adjustments and important terminology) April 23rd Fabric 101 ( learning about fabrics, tension and get to pick fabric for design) April 30th- Garment construction May 4th- (technique building) May 7th NO CLASS...treat mom for mother's day weekend May 14th- Garment construction May 11th- (technique building) May 18th- (Garment construction) May 21st- Final touches May 22nd -Fashion Show (Preferrably 2 looks each depending on time) @Jam Handy Detroit show starts at 3 p.m. Tickets sold separately May 28th- graduation and party Sew In Detroit is a sewing company ran by fashion designer Volencia Simpson.
