What political choices have led to Detroit being a medically-deprived area, both in health infrastructure and staffing? And how do we make healthcare as a human right a material reality? These questions may be complex but the urgency to answer them has never been greater. A million Americans have died from COVID-19. The right to access medically-necessary abortions is under attack. And nutritional and health solutions for those in need can be unaffordable or otherwise out of reach. Our response must be rooted in community, conversation and celebration of work being done.
