Press release from the City of Oklahoma City: May 18, 2022 To celebrate the Best Friends National Adoption Weekend, OKC Animal Welfare is waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats May 20-22. The shelter is at 146% capacity for dogs and 68% capacity for cats. There are 156 animals available for adoption. "Best Friends National Adoption Weekend was created to help save the lives of pets in every single state," said Shelter Superintendent Jon Gary. "These animals are looking for their best friend to provide them a safe, healthy home."
