Hi, I'm Frodo (I am dog friendly!) I’m set to be euthanized May 26th 8 am. Why am I E-listed? I’m STRESSED and STRUGGLING from living in this kennel, and I bark to the point of being hoarse, but when I am out I am one chill dude! Sadly though, It is inhumane to keep me here! Will you help save my life? They don't come any calmer than me! (see videos) I’m a 4-year-old, neutered, brown American Pit Bull Terrier/lab mix (88 lbs.). I am a bit chubby as you can see! I came to the shelter as a stray the first time, and the 2nd time I was returned because I barked...um that's what dogs do!! I probably needed more time to understand where I was....geez people don't give up on us dogs so easily! I’m proud to report that my overall shelter score says I’m an EASY dog!! I am calm, gentle and affectionate with a “touch” of shy/timid. When I feel comfortable with someone, I lean in to get pets. I appear to be housebroken, will “sit” for treats and take them gently. I am well-behaved around other dogs at the shelter. When out on a walk, I sometimes get a little overwhelmed by all that is going on in the environment and may put the “brakes on”. I haven’t had a current dog-to-dog assessment; but when I was assessed during my 2019 stay, I was reported to be tolerant of other dogs and had a “gentle/dainty play style. After over a month at this place I am frustrated and struggling BAD!! I need to get out ASAP!! The shelter recommends that I meet the entire family before leaving and that children in the home be older. I will need time to decompress and relax and get to know everyone. If you are looking for a gentle, calm dog, that’s me!! Please come meet me before it is too late!! I don’t want to die! and the shelter has been killing adoptable dogs lately.
