Job Summary: In this position, the candidate will perform and lead crew members in activities on a wide variety of surveying projects. Essential Functions: Take instructions and follow directions. Lead survey crew in executing field surveys accurately and efficiently. Supervise other survey crew members in proper surveying techniques and equipment operations. Provide survey crew leadership in vehicle, instrument and equipment care and maintenance. Develop thorough and accurate field notes, survey reports and calculations. Proactively provide routine communications to supervisors and administrative support staff. Read plans, plats, deeds, and adjust vertical control. Maintain survey equipment. Additional Responsibilities: Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management. Must be available to travel and work overtime occasionally. Working Conditions: · Work in outdoor environment 95% of the time · Moderate noise level · Travel via automobile on daily basis Requirements Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements: High School diploma. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. A minimum of 3 years survey experience with Survey Crew Chief experience. Proficiency with field survey instruments. Proficiency using laptop computers and data collection software. Must be a self-starter and work with little guidance. Must be able to work independently or as part of a survey crew as required. Must be available to travel and work overtime occasionally. Must be able to clear a background and MVR check. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to work independently or in a team setting Experience with ALTA/NSPS, Topographic, As-Build (Record) Surveys and Construction Staking utilizing the latest technology, proficient using Carlson Surveying Software, Trimble GPS, Robotic Total Station and Leica equipment. Machines, Tools and Equipment: · Operate survey instruments and standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, facsimile, copy machine, etc.) Physical/Mental Demands: · Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach · Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds daily
