Description
Do you own a pet rabbit? Do you have commercial rabbits? To keep them safe, be sure to get them vaccinated against RHDV2! Call Arcata Animal Hospital at
to sign up. The vaccine has been proven safe & effective and is the only certain way to protect against this disease. Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a deadly disease that’s currently spreading as a pandemic in the U.S. and has already reached Northern California in the Bay Area; it spreads through both wild & domestic rabbits and could reach Humboldt County any day now. It’s like a rabbit version of Ebola: it kills basically every rabbit it infects, and it’s extremely contagious (you can unknowingly bring the virus into your home just by walking outside where an infected wild rabbit has been). For more info on RHDV2, visit: https://rabbit.org/rhdv/
The ONLY Humboldt County veterinarian willing to provide RHDV2 vaccinations is ARCATA ANIMAL HOSPITAL — but they require at least 10 rabbits to be signed up before they’ll order the vaccine. We just need a few more people with rabbits to sign up in order to get our bunnies protected. Please give them a call if you’re interested in getting your rabbit(s) vaccinated:
. They do require a current physical exam in order to provide vaccinations, just FYI.
