Her band in the 80’s, “Faye and the Funky Allstars” became legendary in Connecticut, blending jazz, blues and funk in an exciting and unique way. She has also performed with the area’s finest musicians on freelance gigs. In addition to entertaining crowds in the CT area, Faye has worked in New York City in many different venues, including the “Apollo Theater”. Faye was voted best Jazz/Blues singer three consecutive years by New Haven’s top music journal “The Advocate”. During her career, Faye spent time on the road opening for national acts such as The Average White Band, Melba Moore, Tower of Power and Tavaras and performing with artists such as Mark Egan and the late Jaco Pastorious. Michael Coppola - Guitar. Michael Coppola is listed as “The master of the 9 string guitar” in jazz critic Scott Yannow’s book “The Great Jazz Guitarists”. Michael has played at major jazz and guitar events such as the “Montreal Jazz festival, the Namm show and the Chet Atkins festival. He has also played at New York City clubs such as the Blue Note, Knickerbockers and the Iridium , where he was invited to play with the legendary guitarist Les Paul. Michael has several recordings as a leader Including “Return of the Hydra” which was a top ten pick for Coda magazine in 2004. Coppola has been featured in many guitar based magazines such as just jazz guitar, 20th century guitar, guitar player, fingerstyle guitar and more. Ken Serio - Drums. Ken has toured with various acts in Europe, USA, and Canada. He is a New York session musician, solo artist, and band leader of The Ken Serio Trio. An independent educator having taught hundreds of students privately for over 30 years and performing clinics for Dream Cymbals. Ken brings first-hand experience from his tours with some of the music industry's top names and his successful recording history. Ken continues to be a highly in-demand drummer in New York City’s busy session scene. In 1982, Ken received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music 1987-1990 University Of Rhode Island Music Major Recipient of multiple performance awards. He has over 20 years private study with the great Joe Morello, Ken's Mentor, three years private study with Kenwood Dennard 2 years private study with Zack Danziger Relevant Experience Various tours, recording sessions, and CDs with some of jazz, blues, and pop’s top artists including bassist Mark Egan, guitarist Vic Juris, blues great Ronnie Earl, saxophonist David Mann, keyboardist Gil Goldstein, guitarist Pete McCann, drummer Danny Gottlieb, guitarist Billy Eric, blues great Popa Chubby, guitarist Bill Turner (Bill Haley and the Comets), Dem Brooklyn Bums, Scott Waters, Enrico Granafei, Chris Geith, Faye Green, Tomoko Ohno, Sinan Bakir, Gary Mazzoropppi and more. As an in-demand session drummer, Ken has worked with Alicia Keys,The Beastie Boys, Joey Ramone, composer Philip Glass, and contributed to commercial jingles heard around the world. Also a successful solo artist and band leader, having 11 CDs out under his own name. Ken is endorsed by Sonor Drums, SJC Drums, Dream Cymbals, Hotsticks Drumsticks, Axis Pedals, Protection Racket cases, and Mike Balter Mallets. Mark Kaplan - Sax. Mark Kaplan is a premier jazz saxophonist in the Northeast. Mark’s soulful straight ahead playing has made him one of the most in-demand tenor players in the region. In addition to leading his own groups, Mark has performed with Vinny and Ray Afro Cuban Jazz Band, The Bebop Masters, Uri Shaham And Friends, BadSlax and Double Vision. John Mobilio - Bass. John Mobilio is a multi-talented musician who, as bassist, educator, musical director and performer brings his joy of jazz and music to audiences and students throughout Connecticut and into New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Living in Middlebury, Connecticut gives John easy access to performance venues in New York City, New Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, Hartford and the Springfield, Mass areas. John performs regularly with the Chris Coogan Quintet, guitarist Mike Coppolla, vocalist Richard “Cookie” Thomas, and saxophonist Jim Clark. He has recently engineered and performed as bassist on the Chris Coogan Quintet CD Stars and Wind as well as bassist on the Jim Clark CD “Old As New". John has had the pleasure of performing in concert with jazz greats Lewis Nash, Jimmy Cobb, Mike Mainieri, Liam Teague, and Eliot Zigmund and Mike Clark. As a member of the Roylety Steel Pan Caribbean group, John interprets music of the islands on the fretless electric bass. In 2014 John became the bassist for Goldrush - a cutting-edge acoustic country band blending country and bluegrass music. We're sorry, there are no refunds after tickets have been purchased. In the event of a pandemic, rain, snow, or other forms of weather which prohibit a performance, the performance date will be postponed and rescheduled for another date within a reasonable amount of time. If the new date is postponed, a future alternate date will be picked at the discretion of Bethel Jazz and the musical artist. The ticket holder will be notified of postponements, cancelations, and rescheduled dates via email. Tickets are non-refundable and may be transferred to another person in the event a purchaser can not make the rescheduled date. In the event, an artist cancels a date, and Bethel Jazz is unable to reschedule the artist, Bethel Jazz reserves the right to provide a substitute performer of equal quality without notice to the ticket purchaser. If a date is canceled and not rescheduled, Bethel Jazz will provide a refund (in some cases minus the Eventbrite fee) or credit for another performance at the choice of the ticket holder. Bethel Jazz will always do its best to accommodate for changes in seating, table sizes, or changes to tickets.
