NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The polls have closed and the votes have been tallied. The unofficial results are in. Here's what the voters decided in the 2022 New Rochelle school budget election.
The New Rochelle City School District 2021-22 budget was passed.
The budget is $298,760,957 with a 2.79 percent increase over the 2021 -2022 spending package.
School officials said the tax levy will increase by 0.98 percent.
There were two board of education seats for five-year terms. There were three candidates running. The winning candidates are:
Adam CooperDavid Peters Voters approved a $24.3 million, 15-year capital bond proposition for Hurricane Ida repairs and restoration, of which 90% is expected to eventually be reimbursed by flood insurance and state/federal aid through FEMA.
Voters elected Rhiannon Navin to a Library Board of Trustees seat for a five-year term.
