Guided nature connection practice for individual and collective healing.
Forest bathing is based off the Japanese tradition known as Shinrin Yoku which translates to "forest bath". When we walk through natural environments, we are bathing in the aromas, sights, and sounds of nature and we maximize our ability to harness these benefits by walking slowly in an open, receptive state. As a guide, my goal is to facilitate this process by offering invitations largely composed of simple, sensory experiences that encourage presence, calm, curiosity, and connection. The Forest is the therapist and the guide open the doorways for participants to experience the therapeutic power found through establishing healthy relationships within our greater community.
There have been many documented health benefits however, there are no expectations for what a person “should” experience, or what benefits they “should” receive. Instead, it is best viewed as a practice of developing and deepening our relationship to Nature over time throughout many seasons and spaces. There is no right or wrong way to do it, you just have to show up!
