Westport Referral Group Plans In Person Visitor's Day on June 2

Get your business moving in the right direction this spring and connect with other successful business professionals. Local businesses are invited to attend a Visitor's Day on Thursday, June 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., organized by the Westport Business Networking International (BNI) Chapter. This dynamic group of business professionals is seeking new members in select business categories. This in-person meeting will be held at the United Methodist Church, 49 Weston Road, Westport. "BNI is the most successful business networking organization of its kind," said Bob Walker, Growth Coordinator Chair and CEO of Surveys & Forecasts, LLC, a marketing research firm. "Through BNI, business owners can develop new relationships that will exponentially grow their business." He is being assisted by committee member Donald Stump of Dream Build Construction. Currently, weekly BNI meetings are held in a hybrid format. The first meeting of each month is conducted in person, while the other weekly meetings are on Zoom. Classifications that are open include: commercial broker, counseling service, security, hvac, photographer, caterer, bakery, florist, event planner, home inspector, moving company, travel tours, auto repair, and dry cleaner/tailor/shoe repair. In addition, there are other business categories open as well. The Westport BNI Group has 47 members, all experienced professionals at the top of their fields. Not only are they a tremendous resource for each other, but the group represents a top-flight network of business services and solutions in Fairfield County. The achievements of Westport BNI have been recognized with two of the most prestigious BNI awards in Connecticut: Gold Chapter for over 50 members and Platinum Chapter for over $3 million in closed business. In 2021, the group passed over $2.7 million in closed business. BNI is the most successful business referral organization of its type in the world. Membership is structured to allow only one person per profession to join its chapters. "For example; we have one landscaper, one realtor, and one chiropractor," said Chapter President John Clapps of Brand24, LLC. Members actively seek new business contacts that might benefit other members. Meetings are held weekly and referrals are exchanged in a structured manner. "I could never have made all these contacts so quickly," said Vice President James Hisey of Management Insights, LLC. "Because we meet weekly, we learn a lot about each other's companies. As a result, we are trusted referral partners and frequently help each other gain new business."
