HARLEM, NY — Two men beat and robbed a man as he walked into a Harlem subway station on Wednesday, according to police, who released video of the assault.
The 69-year-old victim was walking down the stairs to the 125th Street-St. Nicholas Avenue A/B/C/D station around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, when the two unidentified suspects walked up.
Both men began punching the victim in the head, then one of the suspects knocked him to the ground, where they began kicking him repeatedly.
Video shared by police on Thursday shows the two men beating and punching the victim near the base of the stairs, then emerging a short time later and leaving the station.
The pair made off with the victim's wallet, which contained $150 and his personal ID, police said. The victim suffered pain and a swollen eye, but declined medical attention at the scene.
