MILFORD — Local police said they have a homeless man in custody and charged him with Thursday stealing more than $160 in merchandise at the Wal-Mart store on Boston Post Road.
According to the Milford Police Department, 40-year-old Reginald Leach was charged with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they were called to the Wal-Mart store Thursday afternoon, at about 1:44 p.m., to investigate a possible shoplifting incident.
In addition to accusing Leach with stealing more than $160 worth of merchandise, police said the suspect was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
This was the second incident at the Milford Wal-Mart this week.
On Wednesday, local policed sent out a surveillance photo of a suspect believed to have stolen a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot, then engaged in an altercation with a witness who photographed the suspect.
Leach was taken in on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court May 20.
