BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help in finding Jayleen Burgos, a 14-year-old Hispanic girl, who was reported missing on March 30. Jayleen is "a recurrent runaway," who may be with a 19-year-old Bronx, New York man. Her family lives in the north end of Bridgeport. "Although there is periodic telephone contact between Jayleen and her family, Jayleen remains a missing person," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement. "In addition to the Bridgeport area, there is information to suggest that special attention should be paid to the Garden Street, Bronx, NY area." Jayleen is described as 5 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. No other description was given about the 19-year-old man Jayleen may be with, but police said that considering her age, she "is in a dangerous environment that is evolving." The NYPD 48th Precinct has been notified and are assisting with the case. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jayleen Burgos is urged to contact their local police, or Bridgeport Police Det. Damien Csech at 203-581-5205. Anonymous tips can also be left for Bridgeport police at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
