Press release from the City of Arvada: May 18, 2022 Arvada, CO – Arvada's Majestic View Nature Center is celebrating National Trails Day. The purpose of Arvada's 20th annual Trails Day event is to encourage everyone to get connected outdoors. Trails Day focuses on trail stewardship and the connections we can make with our outdoor community and the natural world around us while on the trails. This year's celebration begins on Saturday, June 4 with a morning trail volunteer project to help with trail restoration and preparing the final trail segment for a trail loop around Oberon Lake. In the afternoon visitors can get connected with the community and learn about the wildlife that shares our trails by visiting free, family-friendly booths. Booths will have interactive activities, environmental education, crafts, and even live animals. The festivities will wrap up with an all-ages guided nature walk to end the day on the trail. Majestic View Nature Center opened its doors on Trails Day in 2002 with a mission to "inspire environmental learning and interpretive connections with our community." Over the past 20 years, the Nature Center has shared a passion for protecting our natural spaces and passed on environmental knowledge to over 300,000 people. In 2022, the Nature Center continues to work with volunteers, community partners, and sponsors to support educational and interpretive programs for guests of all ages to get excited and discover new things about nature. Arvada's Trails Day in 2022 will be no exception, with interpretive stations and educational activities for both kids and adults. Parking is free at the Nature Center, 7030 Garrison St. Arvada, CO 80004. Event Highlights for Saturday, Jun 4, 2022 Trails Day Stewardship Project: 8 to 11 a.m. Family Activities and Booths: 1 to 4 p.m. Guided Nature Walk: 4 to 5:30 p.m. To see what else is happening at Majestic View and learn about other 20th anniversary events, visit majesticviewnc.org or call 720-898-7045.
