ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man was arrested on multiple charges Wednesday after getting involved in a dispute between a man who was walking on North Edison Street near Key Elementary School and the owner of an unleashed dog, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to a report of a person with a gun in the 5100 block of North Edison Street.
When they arrived, police learned that a man was walking in the area when an unleashed dog ran toward him while barking. The man then argued with the dog's owner.
During the argument, Eric Rickert, 50, who knows the dog's owner, joined the argument, police said. The victim then continued walking, but was confronted again by Rickert, who showed a firearm and threatened him.
Rickert was taken into custody without incident. He was arrested and charged with assault and battery, brandishing, and possession of a firearm by a felon, police said.
Rickert was held in the Arlington County jail without bond, according to police.
