UNION, NJ — A lane and shoulder on Route 22 east will be closed for about one week in Union County for guiderail installation, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced. Beginning at 9 p.m., Friday, the right lane and shoulder on Route 22 eastbound just before the Vauxhall Road overpass will be closed to install a concrete barrier. The shoulder closure is necessary for the installation of a new guiderail as part of a developer project and is expected to last about one week, said NJDOT. The closures are not expected to impact traffic. Have a news tip? Email [email protected]. Get Patch breaking news alerts sent right to your phone with our new app. Download here.
