Safety starts with our Yard Associates. You are the first defense in keeping our people and customers safe. This is our first and foremost priority. They safely operate a forklift to load, unload and move materials as needed to assist customers and rotate materials. This position builds loads as instructed to ensure that materials are not damaged or destroyed while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Receives delivery of windows, doors and lumber.
Drives a forklift to move product.
Moves, rotates or replenishes stock as necessary.
Assists yard customers as needed.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
Keeps yard clean and free of obstacles or safety hazards.
Cleans yard by picking up stickers and strapping.
Cut lumber for customers as needed.
Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Experience, Education and Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
1-year loading experience, preferred.
General knowledge and experience of residential construction products preferred.
Skills/Competencies
Average reading, writing and math skills.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Lift up to 100 pounds up to a height of 5 feet frequently with assistance.
Carry 100 pounds over a distance of at least 12 feet frequently with assistance.
Push 100 pounds in a wheeled cart frequently.
Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
Reach overhead to grasp materials.
Climb ladders.
Hand-eye coordination to operate powered and non-powered equipment.
Repetitive motions using wrists, hands, and fingers.
Stand for long periods of time.
Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
Work with mechanical equipment daily.
