Description

Press release from Johnson City Public Library: May 18, 2022 One Story, One Community is a community-wide reading program put on by your Library that runs from May 13-July 28. The goal of One Story, One Community is to get as many people as possible to read and discuss the same book: "Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions" by Daniel Wallace. "Big Fish" is a short novel by Daniel Wallace that was first published in 1998. It's a great summer read: a fantastic novel packed full of imagination and tall tales. The story is about a son trying to get to know his dying father, whose life stories have always sounded more like tall tales than truth. The book is technically for adults, but the story may have an intergenerational appeal. Shared stories have the power to spark conversation and bring people together in unexpected ways. Reading the same book gives people a shared experience, and as your Library we want to help make that happen. We hope you enjoy reading and talking about "Big Fish" with others in our community! Pick up your free paperback copy of "Big Fish" at the Library's Circulation Desk or curbside pickup beginning Friday, May 13. You're welcome to keep it or share with friends! Additionally, we have copies in our collection for checkout. This press release was produced by Johnson City Public Library. The views expressed here are the author's own.
