Wilson talks about taking yourself out of your comfort zone as a creative and empowering your team to reach for the stars.
When I was in school, and as I've grown up in the Texas Panhandle, I've heard a lot of people describe advertising, and even most things in general as "Good enough for Amarillo." That always irritated me.
There's a wealth of talent and opportunity across our part of the world, and why should we feel like the best can't come from here or be done in a place like Amarillo?
This is a talk, first and foremost, about putting yourself out of your comfort zone as a creative. If you're in agency or marketing management, how to empower your team to reach for the stars. And finally, it doesn't matter if you're from a town of 1,100 people or in a metroplex, the standard for good work, especially in advertising creative, should never change.
