High: 90 Low: 78. Here are the top stories in New Orleans today: A man was shot and killed just after 9 p.m. on Thursday on South Cumberland Street in Metairie. Officers responded to a shooting call and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. (WWLTV.com) St. Tammany Parish ended their highly publicized '60-day chlorine burn' to address complaints about Slidell's water quality after only 20 days. Officials claim that 'limiting factors' prohibited them from completely finishing the job. (NOLA.com)The New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board is in negotiations with a company called Aqua-Metric for the use of 'smart meters' to help eliminate billing errors, which the S&WB has been known to have. The process is expected to take place across the next three years, hopefully beginning later this year. Starbucks cited their reason for firing the worker for closing early, but the worker feels it has more to do with their help forming a Union.
