Description

SALEM, NH — The Supervisors of the Checklist of Salem, will be in session on Tuesday evening, May 31, from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on the lower level of the Municipal Office Building. Residents may register to vote, make changes or corrections to their existing data or switch their party affiliation at this session. However, this is the last opportunity for voters to change their party before the State Primary. Perspective new voters need to be at least 18 years of age, show a picture ID and proof of residency is required. Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers. The Supervisors of the Checklist perform the critical function of considering voter registration and allow only those qualified to vote onto the checklist. The session precedes the filing period for all offices for the State Primary scheduled for September 13. Residents who wish to change their party may also do so during regular office hours at the Town Clerks Office until 5 p.m. on May 31. Those voters registered in a party must take the ballot of the registered party. Undeclared voters have the option of choosing their vote. For those who wish to confirm their voter status, updated copies of the voter checklist are available at the Kelley Library Reference Area and the Town Clerk's Office.
