LAGUNA WOODS, CA — A Los Angeles newspaper office reported receiving seven volumes of handwritten notes, apparently sent by the Las Vegas man accused of opening fire in an Orange County church Sunday, the OC Register reported. The documents were reportedly received by the World Journal, a Chinese-language newspaper. A lawyer representing the World Journal, Maxwell Lin, told the OC Register that the papers appeared to be written in diary format and written in Chinese, with a Las Vegas return address reading "David Chou." RELATED: Accused OC Church Shooter's Heritage Questioned, Raising Concerns David Wenwei Chou, 68, of Las Vegas, was charged in connection with the shooting Sunday at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods that killed one man and injured four other people, a crime that officials attributed to hatred of Taiwan. Lin told the OC Register that the newspaper has every intention of cooperating once they are presented with a subpoena from authorities. Carrie Braun, spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, told the OC Register that the agency is aware of the documents, but would not comment further. He is scheduled to be arraigned in June, OC District Attorney Spokesperson Kimberly Edds said.
